In the period from May 16 to May 19, 2023, employees of the Career and Vocational Education Center of the JEM took part in the hybrid conference "A New Look at career in a rapidly changing world", organized by Nazarbayev University and the Asia-Pacific Career Development Association (APCDA). The APCDA conference is an ideal platform for networking, exchange of experience and search for new resources, it was attended by delegates from 10 different countries and regions of the world.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, in his speech outlined key priorities in the field of higher education, such as the creation of a regional hub of academic mobility in Kazakhstan in 2023-2029 by opening branches of leading foreign universities, he also spoke about the Atlas of new professions and competencies of Kazakhstan.
The speakers of the conference were heads of international career centers and well-known experts in the field of professional orientation:
1. Momoko Osaka (Japan) – President of APCDA, CEO of Veriteworks;
2. Shigeo Katsu (Kazakhstan) – President of Nazarbayev University since the foundation of the University in 2010;
3. Sayasat Nurbek (Kazakhstan) – Minister of Science and Higher Education, National expert on Education;
4. Dr. Tristam Hooley (Great Britain) – Professor at the University of Applied Sciences of Norway and the International Center for Orientation Studies at the University of Derby;
5. Marie Zimenoff (USA) – CEO of Career Thought Leaders, entrepreneur, and others.
The speakers paid special attention to the trends of the future, the demystification of artificial intelligence related to career development, green trends, career navigation in the field of sustainable development, and the spread of the chat bot ChatGPT.
Following the results of the conference, the university representatives were awarded certificates.
The first graduates of the innovative educational program 6B03102 «Psychology and Management in Education» - full-time students with the use of distance learning technologies forms of education successfully passed the final certification at the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz.
The students successfully defended their theses on topical psychological problems in the social sphere, including those commissioned by health and education organizations, the center for psychological assistance. The final attestation commission highly appreciated the quality of the research performed, their practical significance, the knowledge and skills of graduates needed in their "understanding" profession.

At the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, an intellectual game “OiLan” was held among students of the Karaganda region. The intellectual game "OiLan" was held as part of the implementation of the Concept of the State Youth Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029.
The goal of the state youth policy is to create conditions for the full-fledged spiritual, cultural, educational, professional and physical development of young people, participation in the decision-making process, successful socialization and the direction of its potential for the further development of the country.
The intellectual game "OiLan" was held in 5 rounds. Each round consisted of questions about the history and culture of Kazakhstan, as well as logic and intelligence. The main task in the game was to educate and respect for the past of the Motherland, for the customs and traditions of the people of Kazakhstan. According to the results of the game, the team of A. Saginov Karaganda Technical University took the honorable first place.
On the eve of the World Metrology Day, a video contest was announced, organized by the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology among students of higher educational institutions on the topic: "Metrology: a look into the future".
The first metrological institution in Kazakhstan was organized in 1923 in Semey, therefore, award ceremony was in this city, at the University named after Alikhan Bokeikhanov, which were undergraduates of our university groups C-22-2 NP and CCI-22-2NP Aikhimbayeva Tatiana Igorevna and Shevchenko Victoria Ivanovna. Congratulations!
On May 11 and 12, 2023, as part of the implementation of the international project Erasmus + "MIETC", a presentation of the master's program "Technological Entrepreneurship" was held on the basis of the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. The international interdisciplinary master's program "Technological Entrepreneurship" is unique due to the symbiosis of technical and economic components and sustainable cooperation between the university and the business community.
On May 11, 2023, an offsite business meeting was held with representatives of QazTehna LLP, as a result of which vectors for further cooperation were identified and announced.
On May 12, 2023, with the participation of partners from Kazakhstan (KaU of Kazpotrebsoyuz, D. Serikbaev EKTU), Spain (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, AYeconomics research center S.L., USC), Tajikistan (Technological University of Tajikistan, Tajik State University of Commerce) a presentation master's program for graduates and teachers of the university. The purpose of the event was to widely inform potential applicants about the opportunities and benefits of obtaining education in the field of industrial entrepreneurship.
On May 11, 2023, the results of the Olympiad in Higher Mathematics among students of economic specialties of universities and colleges of Karaganda, held at the university on April 27, 2023, were summed up.
More than 30 students from Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, Karaganda Banking College named after Zh.K. Bukenov, College of Economics, Business and Law of KarU Kazpotrebsoyuz and others took part in this event.
Before the start of the Olympiad, career guidance and questionnaires were conducted for college students. At the Olympiad, students were offered tasks in higher mathematics of the economic direction. The results of the Olympiad are as follows:
It has become a tradition for students of the innovative educational program "Psychology and Management in Education" to meet with practicing psychologists. The field of activity of future psychologists is wide enough, and every time future psychologists discover new opportunities for professional activity.
So, on May 3, 2023, a meeting was held with the founder and head of the Otkritie Psychology Center, Vadim N. Mizernitsky, acting in Karaganda.
Psychologist, coach Mizernitsky V.N. in a meaningful and interesting lecture introduced students to the wide possibilities of psychotechnologies in the social sphere, in the business environment and in everyday life.
The students asked a lot of questions and also practiced the given techniques on themselves. The meeting was held in a very interesting, active format. The audience showed a lively interest in the issues of profiling, the ability to pose questions in the work of a psychologist. The cooperation of the Otkritie Center and the Department of Psychology, Pedagogy and Social Work continues.
Defender of the Fatherland Day is celebrated in different countries. On this day, we pay tribute and gratitude to those who bravely defended their native country from invaders, as well as to those who in our time have a difficult and responsible service. Defenders of the Motherland have always been the embodiment of patriotism and selfless service to their people, honor and valor, courage and courage, because there is no higher mission on earth than to serve the world and protect their country, their people.
Kazakhstanis cherish the memory of the exploits of all generations of heroes who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the Motherland.
Thus, a number of events were held at the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz with the participation of students and faculty dedicated to the celebration of the Defender of the Fatherland Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Also, on the eve of the Victory Day celebration, representatives of our university, represented by the vice-rector for Social Affairs, the chairman of the trade union committee and university students, personally congratulated veterans and home front workers of the Second World War.
On May 5, a festive concert was held in the Palace of Culture of Students in honor of the celebration prepared by university students. The concert was also attended by guests of our university - the military orchestra of military unit 6505, which is a full-time orchestra of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the exemplary vocal studio "Do-mi-sol" and the soloists of the quartet "Arai".
Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War is a public holiday in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This day is a demonstration of the protection of the Motherland, the people from evil and the memory of the heroes of the Second World War will be cherished in our hearts.
Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is the first Bulgarian higher education institution and one of the most prestigious and largest universities in Bulgaria. Its history is an embodiment and continuation of the centuries-old cultural and educational traditions of the Bulgarian people. The long-term cooperation between the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and Sofia University “ St. Kliment Ohridsky” is implemented in the educational and research fields.
Between April 17th – April 25th, 2023 PhD, Associate Professor Ivan Angelov delivered a course of lectures on “Strategic Management and Leadership”.
During the visit Assoc. Prof. met with the top management of the University – with the Rector Ye. Aimagambetov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Strategic Development G. Nakipova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Integration Activities N. Kenzhebekov, as well as with the teaching staff of the “Management and Innovation” department. The meetings addressed issues of further mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation.
The guest lectures were attended by students of all levels and faculty staff of the University.
On April 26, 2023, the Logistics Olympiad was held at Satbayev University (Almaty). The purpose of the Olympiad is to promote the professional development of students in the field of freight transportation, transport infrastructure, supply chain management, as well as to stimulate creative and scientific activity of students.

The first round was held in an online format, the second round of the Olympiad was held in the form of testing and team case solving. The students solved logistical problems that develop non-standard thinking and test the depth of knowledge.
In a difficult and exciting fight, our team took the 3rd prize! The winners and prize-winners in the individual and team championships were awarded with valuable prizes and diplomas.
