On November 140, 2024, a preliminary selection of student projects was organized and conducted by the staff of the Scientific Research Institute of Economic and Legal Studies at the educational center of the library of the Karaganda Kazpotrebsoyuz University.
This event was timed to coincide with the annual Competition of innovative student projects "Demo Day III", which will be held on December 12, 2024.
The members of the commission evaluated the presented presentations of student projects according to the following criteria: the novelty of the project idea, the clarity of the goal and task, the quality of marketing research and financial and economic calculations, risk assessment, the level of use of software products, etc. Recommendations and suggestions for improving their quality were given for each project.
The Anti-Corruption Coworking Center of the University hosted a regular meeting of students and teachers with employees of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption in the Karaganda region.
The speakers of the event were the deputy head of the Department for Detection and Suppression of the Department, Major of the Anti-Corruption Service Abdiev Olzhas Kalybekovich and the officer for particularly important cases, Major of the anti-corruption service Sharkov Zakhar Sergeevich.
The guests shared their experience, talked about the key aspects of the work of the Agency and the Department, as well as the specifics of operational and investigative activities. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2026.
Such meetings play an important role in the formation of an anti-corruption culture among students and teachers. An open dialogue with representatives of the service allows young people to better understand the mechanisms of combating corruption, learn about legal aspects and responsibilities, as well as realize their role in combating this phenomenon. The University continues to actively support initiatives aimed at developing civic responsibility and legal literacy among its students.
On November 15, 2024, the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an online Forum on combating fraud, which was attended by deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of ministries and departments of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, leading experts and specialists in financial literacy, banks, public associations.
Representatives of the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz also took an active part in the forum.
The participants of the form received up-to-date and very useful information regarding financial security, including personal financial literacy, financial protection and personal data protection, personal responsibility for their financial protection, and many others.
The Anti-fraud Forum allowed not only to realize the seriousness of issues of ensuring personal financial security, financial literacy, protection and responsibility, but also to popularize in the Kazakh society the socially significant issue of countering various types of fraud, financial pyramids, droppery, vishing, phishing, smishing and other criminal manifestations related to the financial security of the Kazakh society.
The presence of representatives of our university at this large-scale event underlines the importance of integrating the educational community into addressing such pressing issues. Such events contribute not only to broadening the horizons of students and teachers, but also to strengthening their knowledge in the field of financial security.
On November 14, a guest lecture on "Internet fraud" was held at the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz with the participation of employees of the Police Department of the Karaganda region: A.A. Uskembayev - Head of the Criminal Police Department, Lieutenant Colonel of the Police; A.M. Kairakbayev - Head of the Department of Criminal Police, Lieutenant Colonel of the Police; A.B. Zhumanov - Senior Operational Commissioner of the Criminal Police Department, Police Captain; D. Rapishev - Operate Commissioner of the Criminal Police Department, Police Captain.
Speakers with extensive experience in combating Internet crimes spoke about the most common methods of deception on the Internet, such as phishing, bank card fraud, fake websites and social networks. Particular attention was paid to the ways in which attackers obtain users' personal data and to precautions that will help avoid such situations.
"The importance of informing the public about the dangers associated with Internet fraud is difficult to overestimate. Knowledge in this area will help people save their finances and personal data," said Kairakbayev Arman Maratovich, Lieutenant Colonel of the DP police.
At the lecture, the students thanked the representatives of the Police Department for the informative event, emphasizing the importance of such meetings for improving digital literacy and legal awareness.
The lecture on "Internet Fraud" became part of the educational program on cybersecurity and was aimed at improving the level of security among Internet users.
On November 7, 2024, students of the specialty “Logistics” visited the company «OPTIMUS.KZ", which is a reliable supplier of paint and varnish products, construction chemicals for civil, industrial and underground construction.

Students were able to get acquainted with modern practices in managing warehouse operations and transport logistics; company experts shared their knowledge and experience, which significantly expanded the future specialists’ understanding of all aspects of this area.
It is important to note that such events create a unique opportunity for students not only to learn about theory, but also to see how it is applied in practice. Representatives of the company «OPTIMUS. KZ» organized an excursion to arouse students’ interest in logistics and help them better understand how the knowledge gained can be used in real life.

On November 6, 2024, representatives of the Department of Economic Investigations for the Karaganda region of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Financial Monitoring visited the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz.
The Department's specialists told the students about the specifics of their work, the goals and objectives they solve, as well as about the wide career opportunities in the field of financial monitoring and economic investigations.
Representatives of the Department paid special attention to explaining the procedure for employment in the civil service. The students were told about the stages of the competitive selection, the necessary documents and the requirements for candidates. Key competencies and skills that are valued in government structures were discussed, as well as advice on preparing for the selection process.
During the meeting, students learned about the Department's current projects, representatives also talked about internship opportunities and invited graduate students to try their hand at a team of specialists.
Such meetings help our students to learn more about professions in the field of financial monitoring and create real employment opportunities for them after graduation.
Within the framework of the scientific project "Criminal law and criminological measures to ensure safety in mining or construction works" (AR OGRN 19675171), from October 15 to 19, 2024, members of the research group PhD, senior researcher at the Research Institute of economic and legal studies Sadvakasova A.T. and master's student Mazhit I.B. visited the University of Ljubljana (Republic of Slovenia).
According to the plan of the grant project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, meetings were held with the management and teaching staff of the University of Ljubljana. During the business trip, the goals and objectives of the visit were discussed with the Dean of the Faculty, as well as with professors of the Faculty of Law.
The members of the research group, following a pre-developed business trip plan, held a lecture for the students and, with the participation of the teaching staff, held a scientific seminar on the research topic. As a result of the approbation of the scientific research data, an act of implementation was obtained.
During the business trip, a visit to the library of the University of Ljubljana was carried out, familiarization with such databases as: One-stop access to Slovene libraries; RDB - Rechtsdatenbank Manz; HeinOnline, etc. The library has several sections devoted to special literature on international law, contains the originals of students' master's and doctoral works, as well as issues of international scientific journals, which the members of the research group have read in detail.
The visit of the research group to the University of Ljubljana was an important step in strengthening international cooperation and expanding scientific exchange in the field of criminal law and criminological security. Discussion of safety issues in mining and construction works with leading experts in this field contributes to the improvement of methods and approaches used both in Kazakhstan and internationally. Such initiatives not only contribute to the development of the university's scientific potential, but also strengthen partnerships with foreign institutions, which in the long term helps to establish high standards in the field of legal security.
In October 2024, as part of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, a series of remote lectures was held, organized by the Department of Accounting and Auditing. Lectures prepared by Svetlana Nikolaevna Grishkina, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Financial University, were aimed at in-depth study of the issues of formation and presentation of corporate reporting.
The high level of professional skill of the lecturer in presenting the topics "Modern trends in the development of corporate reporting" and "Innovations in the IFRS system and their impact on business information transparency" allowed those present to understand the architecture of modern corporate reporting, learn the directions of its development in new realities, familiarize themselves with new standards and their requirements in the IFRS system, as well as with formats presentation of reporting information on the economic, environmental, social and managerial aspects of sustainable development of companies.
The audience included students and undergraduates of the Accounting and Auditing program, students of the College of Economics, Business and Law, as well as teachers of the department.
Svetlana Nikolaevna shared valuable knowledge and presented modern approaches to reporting, which allowed the participants not only to get acquainted with the latest trends in accounting, but also to consider the practical application of these skills in a professional environment.
In continuation of the implementation of the Agreement, an online round table was held on the topic "The impact of digitalization on the accounting and control systems of economic entities of Russia and Kazakhstan". The presentations were made by Doctor of Economics, Professor S.N. Grishkina on the topic "Development of accounting methodology in the context of digitalization" and Doctor of Economics, Professor V.I. Berezyuk on the topic "Digital tools in accounting and auditing systems of the Republic of Kazakhstan". The international round table was organized to share experiences on the methodology of using digital tools in the accounting and auditing system of different countries. The event ended with a free discussion in which the participants of the round table discussed the most important and problematic issues related to the difficulties encountered in the implementation and use of digital technologies in accounting and auditing in Russia and Kazakhstan.
Cooperation with the Financial University and the organization of such events help our students and teachers to broaden their horizons, improve their professional skills and keep abreast of current accounting trends.
A master class on «Management solutions in the hospitality industry and their effectiveness» was held at the university, which was conducted by our graduate, Anastasia Pavlovna Ilyicheva, manager of the Negroni restaurant. Her education in the Restaurant and Hotel Business program has become the foundation of a successful career for her, and now she is happy to share her experience with current students.
Ilyicheva told how she implements the knowledge gained at the university in her work, and how management solutions help to effectively organize processes in the restaurant, provide a high level of service and create comfortable conditions for employees. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and find out how the theory passed in the classrooms is implemented in practice.
Such meetings with our graduates inspire students and demonstrate real examples of career growth based on professional knowledge and experience gained within the walls of our university.
On October 31, 2024, a meeting with representatives of QazTehna LLP was held at the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, dedicated to updating the roadmap to strengthen the practical orientation of educational programs, taking into account the tasks of the relevant ministry and regional needs.
During the event, key areas of cooperation and new approaches to the educational process were discussed in the context of the ideas presented at the Connected - 2024 conference. Among the priorities is to improve the practical orientation and quality of educational programs through the adaptation of curricula to professional standards and current market demands. Additionally, it is planned to attract practitioners to teach professional modules, which helps students gain in-demand knowledge and skills.
Specific initiatives have been identified to implement these tasks:
- Reviewing educational programs with the involvement of experts from enterprises to ensure their relevance and compliance with industry requirements, conducting practical training at the enterprise.
- Organization of paid internships for students so that they can put their knowledge into practice and gain valuable work experience.
- Creation of a virtual training course for workers in conjunction with the university's Digital Laboratory, which will allow employees of enterprises to master competencies on the job.
- Conducting a student Hackathon where participants will be able to solve real business problems, developing teamwork and critical thinking skills.
These initiatives will make learning more practice-oriented and help students prepare for professional activities, improving the quality of graduate training. The University and QazTehna LLP are confident that their cooperation will have a significant impact on the development of the region and the creation of new opportunities for young professionals.
