Day of Spiritual Consent: Round Table at the University

On October 18, Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of Spiritual Consent. This date has been observed since 1992, when the first World Congress of Spiritual Consent was held in the country. The Day of Spiritual Consent symbolizes society's aspiration for harmony, mutual understanding, and respect for various cultures and religions. In today’s world, where maintaining unity and peace is especially important, this day serves as a reminder of the need for tolerance and cooperation among people of different faiths and beliefs.

In honor of this occasion, our university held a round table on the topic: “Interfaith Dialogue — The Spiritual Foundation of Unity and Stability in Kazakhstani Society.”

The round table brought together representatives of various faiths, government bodies, and the academic community:

  • Sherzod Abbozovich Pulatov — Chairman of the Republican Council of Ethnomediation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (APK), Chairman of the Uzbek Ethnocultural Center in Astana, member of the National Kurultai under the President of Kazakhstan, member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, SCO People’s Diplomat, professional trainer-mediator, doctoral student at the Department of APK, Faculty of International Relations, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
  • Alexander Nikolaevich Ugolkov — Archpriest, Rector of the St. Nicholas Church in Aktas village, Karaganda and Shakhtinsk Diocese.
  • Daniyar Erikuly Kemerbayev — Deputy Imam of the Karaganda Regional Mosque "Anet Baba," responsible specialist of the Department for Prevention and Rehabilitation from Foreign Religious Sects in Karaganda Region.
  • Gulnar Amirbaykyzy Zhanysbekova — Candidate of Historical Sciences, Head of the "Personal Development and APK" Center, South Kazakhstan Research University named after M.O. Auezov, Shymkent city.
  • Sultan Amanboldyuly Rymkulov — Head of the Rehabilitation Department of the Department of Religious Affairs of Karaganda Region.
  • Ayaulym Kurmangaliqyzy Myngbayeva — Master’s student in the "Standardization and Certification" educational program.
  • Tomiris Amangeldievna Sagimbayeva — Student in the "Food Products Technology" educational program.

The round table was moderated by Almas Sabitovich Orynbekov, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy, and Madina Borambaevna Alpysbayeva, Head of the Department of “Social and Political Disciplines and Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan,” PhD, Associate Professor.

Participants discussed key issues related to the role of traditional religions in society and the importance of interfaith dialogue for strengthening unity and preventing spiritual contradictions in Kazakhstan.

The International Programmes and Projects Centre announces the opening of applications for student mobility under the Erasmus+ programme at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (Sofia, Bulgaria).

The competitive selection is carried out by Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz in accordance with the criteria established by the Erasmus+ programme and Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.

The main selection criteria are high academic performance and knowledge of English at a level not lower than B2.

Students who have studied for at least two semesters at their home university are eligible to participate in the competition.

Sports, Education and Science: An International Conference Held at the University

Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz became the venue for the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Fundamentals of Sports Development in the Educational Sphere”, organized in cooperation with the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Karaganda Region.
The conference was attended by Doctors of Science from the P.F. Lesgaft National State University (St. Petersburg), who trained more than 450 sports professionals from various regions of Kazakhstan.
The participants focused on improving the qualifications of specialists, implementing innovative educational and wellness technologies, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports.
During the event, Memorandums of Cooperation were signed between:
• Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and the Republican Educational, Methodological and Analytical Center of the Committee on Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and the Medical and Physical Training Dispensary of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Karaganda Region.
The Rector of the University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Erkara Balkaraevich Aimagambetov, emphasized that such events strengthen the connection between science, education, and sports, and create conditions for the training of qualified specialists in sports management, sports medicine, and psychology.
Following the results of the conference, the university is considering the launch of new microqualification educational programs at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. This initiative will help train national professionals for the sports sector and contribute to the development of sports in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The CirculEC project continues: partners' meeting held in Tashkent

The next series of monitoring meetings of the CirculEC Project Consortium, funded by the EU under the Erasmus+ CBHE programme, took place in Uzbekistan (Tashkent) at the premises of Международный Вестминстерский университет в Ташкенте and Central Asian University.
Project partners discussed and evaluated the integration of circular economy principles into bachelor’s, master’s, and LLL programmes of Uzbek universities, as well as the role of partner institutions in preparing specialists for sustainable development and the green transformation of the region.
The event brought together over 50 faculty members and experts from universities across the region and Europe to assess progress in embedding circular economy principles into academic programmes. Among the participants was the project team from Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. The university’s participation in the project contributes to the development of international academic cooperation, the improvement of education quality, and the formation of next-generation specialists’ competencies in the field of sustainable development and green technologies.
The next series of monitoring visits will be held at universities in Tajikistan (Dushanbe).

Shaping a New Tax Culture: Seminar on the Tax Code–2026 Held at the University

With the new Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan coming into effect on January 1, 2026 — marking a large-scale reform of the national tax system aimed at enhancing fairness, transparency, and digital efficiency — Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz is actively contributing to the formation of a new tax culture and the professional competence of future specialists.
As part of the university’s mission to train competitive professionals for sustainable regional development, the Department of Finance organized a scientific and practical seminar titled “Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 2026: Key Changes” on October 9, 2025.
Zauresh Kanatovna Zhoikimbekova, Head of the Department for Tax Legislation Clarification of the Regional Department of State Revenues for the Karaganda Region, delivered a presentation outlining major updates related to the taxation of individuals and legal entities, the introduction of digital tools, and measures to reduce the administrative burden on businesses.
Participants discussed the practical aspects of implementing the new code and its impact on the financial and economic activities of enterprises.
The event contributed to expanding students’ and faculty members’ professional knowledge, developing relevant competencies, and increasing interest in the country’s tax policy.
