The new draft Constitution was discussed at the University

An informational and explanatory meeting was held at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz with the participation of students and academic staff, attended by representatives of the National Coalition “For the People’s Constitution of a Fair and Progressive Kazakhstan.”
The event focused on discussing the country’s strategic development priorities. Members of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Смагулов Б.А. and Калыков А.К. — as well as deputies of the Karaganda regional and city maslikhats, took part in the meeting.
During the session, participants were presented with the key provisions of the draft Constitution and its proposed amendments. It was emphasized that the document strengthens guarantees of human rights and freedoms, formalizes digital security issues at the state level, reflects updates in the system of governance.
The speakers highlighted the importance of the upcoming referendum scheduled for March 15, noting that citizens’ active participation plays a crucial role in shaping the country’s future development trajectory.

On 20 February 2026, a round table entitled “Internet Fraud: Prevention and Responsibility” was successfully held at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. The event aimed to enhance students’ legal awareness and develop digital security skills among young people.

Students and members of the academic staff actively participated in the discussion. The round table addressed current internet fraud schemes, practical aspects of their detection, as well as effective preventive measures and methods for protecting citizens in the digital environment.

Invited speakers included representatives of the Karaganda City Police Department, the Police Department of Karaganda Region of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Karaganda Academy of the MIA of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after B. Beisenov:

As part of the 60th anniversary celebration of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and the event series “University and Region: 60 Years of Joint Growth,” an off-site training session was held on February 19, 2026, for students of the Educational Programs “Logistics” and “Marketing” at the premises of the department’s long-term partner, TM-Logistic LLP.

Students from groups Log-23-2, Log-24-4s, Log-24-2, MK-23-2, and MK-24-4s took part in the event. The company director, V.N. Kulikov, delivered a lecture and provided a practical demonstration of business processes, highlighting modern logistics practices, their interconnection with marketing, and their role in creating customer value.

The session was supervised by lecturers A.K. Sadykova and E.A. Krasnoshchekova.

Such events contribute to strengthening the university’s partnership with the regional business community, developing students’ practice-oriented competencies, and improving the quality of professional training for future specialists.

Regional Economics Olympiad – 2026

On February 21, 2026, the Jubilee Regional Economics Olympiad dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz was held at the university for students of grades 9–11 from schools, gymnasiums, and lyceums, as well as college students from Karaganda city and the Karaganda region.

The annual intellectual competition is aimed at developing economic thinking skills among young people, promoting economic knowledge, and supporting career guidance and informed decisions regarding further education.

The methodological, organizational, and informational support of the event was provided by the Departments of “Economics and Entrepreneurship” and “Management and Innovation” of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Entrepreneurship of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. The jury consisted of leading faculty members of the university.

A total of 49 talented school and college students from the region took part in the Olympiad. The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to apply economic knowledge in practice.

Based on the results of the competition, the winners were awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree diplomas, commemorative gifts, and certificates granting tuition fee discounts at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. Teachers of the winners received letters of appreciation from the Rector of the University.

The Regional Economics Olympiad once again confirmed its importance as an effective platform for identifying and supporting gifted youth interested in the development of economic science and entrepreneurship.

Open dialogue with a graduate: exchange of professional development experience

On February 6, 2026, a meeting with graduate of the Educational Program “Judicial and law enforcement activities” I. Gaivoronskaya was held at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. She is an Inspector of the headquarters of the Kirov Police Department of the city of Karaganda, a police lieutenant.

The event was organized by Senior Lecturer of the Department of General and special disciplines Kayrollaeva L.K. and conducted in an open dialogue format. During the meeting, the graduate shared her educational journey, choice of specialty, and first steps in her professional career. Special attention was paid to how the knowledge gained at the university helped her successfully adapt to the requirements of the modern professional environment and build her career.

During the meeting, issues of employment, internship experience, and the development of professional and personal competencies were discussed. The graduate provided practical recommendations on self-development, career choice, and building an individual learning trajectory.

Such meetings play an important role in the university’s career guidance activities, helping students gain a realistic understanding of their future profession, increase learning motivation, and make informed career choices.
