The Faculty of Finance, Logistics and Digital Technologies of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz has been operating in the educational services market since 1966. Its history began in 1968 when the Accounting and Finance Faculty was established as a separate unit from the Economics Faculty – the core division of the Karaganda Cooperative Institute of the Central Union.

About the faculty
The Faculty of Economics, established in 1966, became the first and only structural unit of the Karaganda Cooperative Institute of the USSR Consumer Union, laying the foundation for the development of economic education in the region. It initially included departments of political economy, higher mathematics, economic geography and history, foreign languages, CPSU history, commodity science of industrial and food products, as well as physical education — ensuring a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to training specialists.
In 1970, the faculty graduated the institute’s first 190 highly qualified economists in trade, who became key figures in the development of consumer cooperation in Kazakhstan. Among its outstanding graduates are Kh. Ashlyaev, Chairman of the Board of Kazpotrebsoyuz; Ye. Aliakparov, former Chairman of the Pavlodar Regional Consumer Union and Deputy Chairman of Kazpotrebsoyuz; and Ye. Kadyrbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Pavlodar Regional Consumer Union and Director of the Cooperative College.
The faculty also counts among its alumni prominent academics and administrators: Rector of the University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Y.B. Aimaganbetov; First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (2000–2022), Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor R.O. Bugubaeva; and since 2023, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Strategic Development, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor A.T. Abdikarimova.
