The Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education – Ranking (IQAA-Ranking) has published the results of the 2025 National Ranking of Leading Universities of Kazakhstan. Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz secured 2nd place among the humanities and economics universities in the country.
Total score – 58.24 points, including:
41.96 – academic performance and graduate employment results;
On June 12-13, 2025, teachers of the Department of Marketing and Logistics of the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz Sadykova A.S. and Kuanyshbayev A.B. participated in a training course organized within the framework of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH "Vocational Education for Economic Growth sectors in Central Asia (RESA)" project. The event was held in Almaty.
The Department is a participant in the RESA project aimed at strengthening vocational education in Central Asia and training qualified specialists for economic growth sectors. As part of the project, work is underway to introduce a dual bachelor's degree program in Logistics by Industry at our university with the involvement of the business community.
The training was the final event of the project before its completion in August 2025. The teachers got acquainted with modern interactive learning methods, including logistic simulation games (in particular, the board game "Business in Motion"), as well as software used in the educational process.
Participation in the training allowed the teachers to expand pedagogical approaches and strengthen partnerships, which will contribute to the further development of the university's educational programs. Following the results of the training, the participants received certificates.
On May 27, 2025, at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, a leading researcher at the Research Institute of Legal and Economic Research of the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Alikzhan Khalelovich Fetkulov held a scientific and practical seminar on the topic: «Criminal law and criminological problems in ensuring safety during mining or construction work».
This seminar was held as part of the project with the financial support of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (IRN AR 19675171).
The seminar addressed the issues of qualification of criminal offenses involving liability under Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Special attention was paid to the criteria for distinguishing related crimes, in particular, a comparative analysis of violations of safety rules during mining or construction work (art.277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and violations of labor protection rules (art.156 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan) was carried out. A legal analysis was carried out and the signs of the composition of these criminal offenses were considered, as well as suggestions and recommendations for their improvement. The issues of preventing violations in the field of occupational safety and health were also considered.
This seminar aroused great scientific interest among the teaching staff of the Department of «Criminal Law Disciplines» of the Law Faculty of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the university's scientific youth.
From May 26 to 31, 2025, as part of the implementation of the grant project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan titled "Innovative Model for Improving Student Research Work in Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan", representatives of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz visited Moscow for an academic engagement. The delegation included Dr. Talgat Khanov, Director of the Institute for Economic and Legal Research, and Dr. Alexander Bashirov, the project manager.
During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Moscow University named after S.Yu. Witte, and the Moscow State Academic University for the Humanities. Discussions focused on contemporary approaches to organizing and developing student research activities, opportunities for joint studies, and academic collaboration within the framework of the ongoing project.
Special attention was given to the exchange of research outcomes and publications, including the collective monograph "Improving Student Research Work in Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan", prepared as part of the project. The presented materials sparked considerable interest and led to meaningful discussions.
The program also included overview lectures for students of Moscow universities, presenting the core ideas, goals, and expected impacts of the Kazakhstani model of student research on the higher education system.
This academic engagement marked an important step in international cooperation and scholarly dialogue aimed at strengthening research culture in universities and advancing student science as a key direction in preparing future researchers and professionals.
The annual foreign language courses organized by the Multilingual Education Centre of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz have come to an end.
From October 7 of 2024 to May 30 of 2025, foreign language courses were held for university and college students, taking into account their level of proficiency. The programs were designed to develop language competencies, expand vocabulary, and improve both oral and written communication skills. Upon completion of the courses, all participants who successfully fulfilled the program requirements received certificates confirming their language proficiency. Language courses were provided in English, Chinese, Turkish, and Arabic.
