Republican Student Olympiad in Social Work – 2026

On April 17, 2026, the 18th Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the educational program 6B11404 «Social Work» was held at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. The event was organized by the academic staff of the Department of Psychology, Pedagogy, and Social Work.

Teams representing the following higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the Olympiad: Esil University, Abai Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University, Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, and Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University.

The Olympiad became an important platform for demonstrating professional knowledge, exchanging experience, and developing the competencies of future specialists in the field of social work. The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, analytical thinking, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge when solving practice-oriented cases and developing social initiatives.

The Olympiad program included two stages. The first stage was conducted in an individual format and focused on solving practical cases in the field of social work. The second stage was a team competition of social startup projects, “Social Project,” within which the participants presented innovative solutions to social problems using digital technologies and elements of artificial intelligence.

According to the results of the Olympiad, in the individual competition:

— 1st place: Albina Nurbolkyzy Kaztayeva (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University)

— 2nd place: Alina Bauyrzhankyzy Zholdy (Esil University), Ulkhiya Umirzakkyzy Sabirova (Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University)

— 3rd place: Balnur Bauyrzhankyzy Musa (Esil University), Nuraina Bakbergenkyzy (Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University), Farida Askarkyzy Sundetbay (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University)

In the team competition, the winners were:

— 1st place: team of Abai Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University

— 2nd place: team of Esil University and team of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University

— 3rd place: teams of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, and Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University

All Olympiad participants were awarded diplomas of the respective degrees. Team supervisors were presented with letters of appreciation for preparing the students and for their contribution to the development of professional education.

The Olympiad contributed to strengthening interuniversity cooperation, improving the quality of specialist training, and supporting talented student youth. The event was held at a high scientific and organizational level in an atmosphere of professional interaction and academic exchange.
