XVIII Republican Olympiad in World Economy and World Talent Startup Projects Competition

On April 10, 2026, the XVIII Republican Student Olympiad in the educational program “World Economy” and the World Talent startup projects competition were held at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz.
The event brought together students from leading universities across Kazakhstan, becoming an important academic platform for demonstrating theoretical knowledge, analytical skills, and practical competencies in the field of world economy. Participants showed a high level of preparation, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to apply their knowledge to solve relevant economic problems.
The Olympiad program included individual testing aimed at assessing professional knowledge in world economy, as well as a startup projects competition focused on identifying innovative ideas and students’ entrepreneurial potential.
According to the results of the individual testing, first place was awarded to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In accordance with tradition, the winning university will host the Olympiad next year.
Within the framework of the World Talent startup competition, first place was awarded to the team from Esil University, which presented the well-developed and promising innovative project with strong practical significance and implementation potential.
The organization of the Olympiad and the competition contributed to the development of academic mobility, strengthening interuniversity cooperation, and supporting talented youth oriented toward scientific activity.

Asylkhan Dinara Beibitkyzy (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University) — 1st place in individual testing.
Anastasia Kushchenko, Anel Mitay, and Ruslan Baigutdinov (Esil University) — 1st place in the startup project competition.
