“Internet Fraud: Prevention, Detection, and Responsibility!”

On 20 February 2026, a round table entitled “Internet Fraud: Prevention and Responsibility” was successfully held at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. The event aimed to enhance students’ legal awareness and develop digital security skills among young people.

Students and members of the academic staff actively participated in the discussion. The round table addressed current internet fraud schemes, practical aspects of their detection, as well as effective preventive measures and methods for protecting citizens in the digital environment.

Invited speakers included representatives of the Karaganda City Police Department, the Police Department of Karaganda Region of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Karaganda Academy of the MIA of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after B. Beisenov:

  1. Duysen Kairatovich Askarov – First Deputy Head of the Karaganda City Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel.
  2. Daurenbek Kadylovich Musatayev – Deputy Head of the Karaganda City Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel.
  3. Mikhail Yuryevich Kalashidi – Acting Head of the OCP of the Karaganda City Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel.
  4. Rustam Ramilievich Akhmaltdinov – Investigator of the Investigative Department of the Police Department of the Karaganda Region, Senior Police Lieutenant.
  5. Evgeny Petrovich Shulgin – Head of the Department of Cybersecurity and Information Technologies at the Karaganda Academy of the MIA of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after B. Beisenov, Police Major.

The event was organized by the Chair of Legal Regulation of Economic Relations of the Faculty of Business, Law, and Technology. Invited speakers were presented with commemorative gifts and letters of appreciation. The round table contributed to strengthening cooperation between educational and law enforcement institutions and generated strong interest among students. The University expresses its gratitude to its partners for their cooperation and contribution to the legal education of young people in cyberspace.

The round table was held within the framework of the research project Analysis of the Legal Awareness of Youth in the Karaganda Region in Cyberspace”.
