“KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGES IS THE DOORWAY TO WISDOM”
On January 18th, 2024, an exciting competition on the theme “Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom” took place at the Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, organized by the Center for Multilingual Education. This event was special as it involved the faculty staff of non-linguistic disciplines, showcasing their unique language abilities and cultural diversity.
Three teams representing different faculties of the university participated in the competition:
- «Multilinguists» - the team of the Faculty of Business, Law and Technology (FBLT);
- «Poly-язычный оқытушы» - the team of the Faculty of Finance, Logistics and Digital Technologies (FFLDT);
- «ASEM» - the team of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Entrepreneurship (FEUP).
Each team showcased outstanding knowledge and skills in the field of languages, capturing the attention of the audience with their unique approaches to language learning and teaching. Participants not only demonstrated their linguistic abilities but also exhibited a deep understanding of the cultural aspects of various languages.
The enthusiasm and active participation of the audience became a significant part of this event, emphasizing the importance of diverse language skills in the academic community. The competition served as a reminder to all about the significance of supporting and promoting linguistic diversity within the university environment.
At the conclusion of the competition, the teams were honored with Diplomas of I, II, and III degrees, along with valuable prizes that acknowledged their hard work and dedication:
1st place – «ASEM» - the team of the FEUP;
2nd place – «Multilinguists» - the team of the FBLT;
3rd place – «Poly-язычный оқытушы» - the team of the FFLDT.
These awards have become a symbol of recognition for their contribution to enriching the cultural and linguistic diversity of the university.
We sincerely hope that such events will become a tradition, inspiring the academic community to continually strive for linguistic harmony and cultural enrichment.
